S9490 - GPU-Enhanced Collaborative Scientific Visualization

Session Speakers
Session Description

SIGHT is an exploratory visualization tool for large-scale atomistic datasets in materials science that is deployed in OLCF systems. We'll discuss how SIGHT leverages web technologies and GPU-Based solutions for collaborative scientific visualization in HPC environments. Traditionally, large-scale scientific simulation campaigns involve collaboration efforts that involve diversity in expertise and geographic location. Collaboration extends through the life cycle of the data from computation to analysis and visualization. We'll discuss our approach, which uses a multi-streaming prototype that takes advantage of NvPipe for near-zero latency video compression and NVIDIA OptiX to generate simultaneous and independent user views to facilitate common analysis tasks in materials science. We'll also share some early experiences with our approach on the SUMMIT supercomputer.
