DLIT902 - Introduction to CUDA Python with Numba

Session Speakers
Session Description

Prerequisites: Basic Python and Numpy Competency

How To Prepare: All attendees must bring their own laptop and charger. We recommend using a current version of Chrome, Firefox, or Safari for an optimal experience. Create an account at http://courses.nvidia.com/join before you arrive.

Explore an introduction to Numba, a just-in-time function compiler that allows developers to utilize the CUDA platform in Python applications. You'll learn how to:

  • Decorate Python functions to be compiled by Numba
  • Use Numba to GPU accelerate NumPy ufuncs

Upon completion, you'll be able to use Numba to accelerate NumPy ufuncs in your Python code and ready to write custom CUDA kernels in Python.
